Watch live video of the Jodo Shinshu Accession Ceremony

Hongwanji world headquarters in Kyoto, Japan provides livestreaming video of the Commemoration on the Accession of the Jodo Shinshu Tradition. If you access the web pages while the services are underway (see Livestream Access Links below), you may watch and hear them as they happen.

Services start at 2 p.m. Japan time on the following dates:

2016

October 1-8 October 20-27 November 4-11 November 18-25

2017

March 7-14 March 28-April 4 April 11-18 April 25-May 2 May 9-16 May 24-31

 
 Since Japan is 19 hours ahead of Hawaii, services start at 7 p.m. Hawaii time the previous day. For example, if you are in Hawaii and you want to watch the October 8, 2016 service, you need to access the livestream on October 7 at 7:00 p.m. Hawaii time.

The length of the service is about one hour followed by the special event for about 30 minutes.

The services will be held at two temples simultaneously with livestreaming from both. You may access whichever you want to see, either Goeido (Shinran’s Hall) or Amidado (Amida’s Hall).
