A three-session class with Rev. Richard Tennes at Kahului Hongwanji Mission (June 2, 9, & 16, 10:00am-11:30am).

Classes will be held in the main Temple. This class will offer participants the opportunity to learn or review the basic concepts of Buddhism, which are essential for anyone who considers themselves to be Buddhist or who is interested in learning about the Buddha’s teachings.

Topics covered will be the story of Shakyamuni Buddha, the Four Noble Truths, Interdependence, Pure Land Teachings, and much more. Practical topics such as the meaning of the altar, incense offering, chanting, and others will be discussed. As always, our classes emphasize questions and open discussion.

Participants are asked to register for the three-class session. This event has an early registration due by May 31. The suggested donation is $10.00.
