Each summer, the Buddhist Study Center hosts a seminar, held in sequential evening sessions over the course of a week, with a well-known Buddhist scholar.

This summer (July 2016), we are fortunate to have as our speaker Dr. Jeff Wilson, associate professor of religious studies and East Asian studies for Renison University College, at the University of Waterloo.

Dr. Wilson has written several books and numerous articles about the interaction of Buddhism and various aspects of North American culture. His recently published third book, Mindful America, is the first in-depth study of this sweeping phenomenon. Dr. Wilson will discuss various aspects of his book and its implications in Hawaii.

Jeff is an ordained Jodo Shinshu minister and a member of Toronto Hongwanji Church.
