MLK parade 2014 - Norman with cranes
Peace cranes are a big hit with festival-goers. BWA participants in the parade pass out small ones to children and others along the way.
The parade will begin at Magic Island at 9:00 a.m. and will proceed along Kalakaua Avenue to Kapiolani Park, about a two-mile route. Pacific Buddhist Academy will provide a bus for those who cannot walk.

Be festive!! Wear purple or a temple or organization shirt… help pass out origami cranes to onlookers… they love that!

BWA welcomes all temple members and friends, Dharma school students, YBA members… they are trying for their biggest unit ever! Pacific Buddhist Academy students and families will be joining the parade in force this year.

Come to Magic Island at about 8:00. Parking is limited; allow time for parking nearby and walking to the start. Carpooling is encouraged.

See you there! Watch for the sea of purple shirts!

Martin Luther King Jr NYWTS“It really boils down to this: that all life is interrelated. We are all caught in an inescapable network of mutuality, tied into a single garment of destiny. Whatever affects one directly, affects all indirectly.”
