Hawaii Buddhist Council Bodhi Day Service set for December 8 at Hawaii Betsuin

The Hawaii Buddhist Council invites the public to celebrate the attainment of perfect awakening by Shakyamuni Buddha some 2500 years ago. The service begins on Sunday, December 8 at 9:30 a.m. at the Honpa Hongwanji Hawaii Betsuin temple in Honolulu, 1727 Pali Highway (enter parking from Lusitana Street).

The guest speaker for the service is Dr. Manulani Aluli Meyer and her talk is entitled, “Ho‘oulu: This Time of Transformation.”

Following the service will be refreshments with handbell and shamisen musical performances.
