Five-year theme (2020-2024) : Building Healthy Sanghas
2021 Slogan: Nurturing Empathy and Respect
The Honpa Hongwanji Mission of Hawaii (HHMH) Calendar Committee invites individuals and affiliates to provide photos for the 2021 Hongwanji calendar. We do welcome cell phone photos. Photos will need to be able to be clearly enlarged. You may submit several photos. Please include a paragraph describing how the picture relates to the 2021 slogan and the name/temple for photo credit.
Given this “new normal” we are now all living during this COVID19 pandemic, we are particularly seeking photos that share what you and your family/friends/temples have been doing during quarantine (virtual sermons and Bon Dancing, new protocols and practices for “safe” in-person services/gatherings, remote meetings, community service – meals, masks, etc.). How are you spending time together, taking care of yourselves and each other, resuming or learning new hobbies, what precious memories do you have a photo of, what different family traditions have you started during this pandemic and “stay at home” orders, how are you adapting and connecting in a time of social/physical distancing? Have you expressed your feelings of gratitude, sorrow, or anxiety in a poem or artwork?
How are you continuing to Build Healthy Sanghas … how are we Nurturing Empathy and Respect?
We encourage ministers, members, temples, and organizations to submit photos! If you have questions, please leave a message for Yumi Suzuki at the Hongwanji Headquarters Office via Rev. Takahashi at 522-9200 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
For photo submissions, please submit directly to Alan Kubota at email@example.com. He will respond directly to any technical questions. Thank you.
Preferably, please submit pictures that are landscape oriented (horizontal).
