FUNERAL SERVICES FOR FORMER BISHOP REVEREND YOSHIAKI FUJITANI MODIFED TO RECOGNIZE COVID PRECAUTIONS
HONOLULU, Hawaii – Due to the recent surge in COVID-19 cases in Hawaii, funeral services for former Bishop Reverend Yoshiaki Fujitani have been modified to limit the number of attendees for health and safety considerations.
Rev. Fujitani, the 11th Bishop of Honpa Hongwanji Mission of Hawaii, passed away on Monday, May 17, 2021, at the Kuakini Medical Center at the age of 97.
A private in-person service for only immediate family and invited relatives, friends and organization representatives will be held on Sunday, August 15, 2021 at the Honpa Hongwanji Hawaii Betsuin. There will be no public visitation prior to the service.
The service will be livestreamed to the public through the Honpa Hongwanji Mission of Hawaii YouTube channel at 4 p.m. on August 15th.
