Hawaii Herald runs a feature on Hanamatsuri; Rev. Sol Kalu interviewed, 1960s-era photos included

On April 7, the Hawaii Herald published an article about Hanamatsuri, the flower festival commemorating the birth of the historical Buddha. George Furukawa, the writer, quotes extensively from Hawaii Betsuin Associate Minister Rev. Sol Kalu, who was interviewed for the article. Readers will also be interested to see two photos from the Honpa Hongwanji Mission of Hawaii archives of large 1960s-era Buddha Day celebrations at Kapi‘olani Park.
