Hongwanji Hawaii’s Commission on Buddhist Education is sponsoring a poster contest to visually express the 2026 Hongwanji theme/slogan “Nurturing Nembutsu: Sharing Gratitude” The focus will be on “How do we express gratitude in our daily lives? How does saying Namo Amida Butsu help us recognize the kindness we receive? What do we receive by sharing gratitude?”

Through your art, entrants are asked to reflect on what it means to share gratitude with their family, friends, and the world around them.

Posters can be created using any medium (e.g., painting, drawing, digital art, photography) but must be submitted as a high-resolution digital file (JPEG, PNG, or PDF). Poster dimensions: Standard poster size (24″ x 36″ or equivalent in digital format). For more information, see the poster contest flyer or detailed submission guidelines (Google doc).

The winning poster will be selected as a statewide poster promoting the 2026 Theme and Slogan.
