2025 PEACE DAY IN HAWAII EVENT INVITES THE WORLD SEPT. 22ND; CANADA, US MAINLAND STATES, NEIGHBOR ISLANDS, JAPAN, GERMANY, PROMOTING PEACE
The public is invited to join the virtual “6th Annual Ring Your Bell for Peace Day” which is an interfaith, multi-cultural, and international gathering of individuals and organizations who are enjoying a program with esteemed speakers, entertainers, and participants to share the common interest of promoting peace, mutual respect, and unity. Hosted by Honpa Hongwanji Hawaii.
Everyone logs on September 22nd, 8:15 AM, and the program goes live on Zoom and Facebook at 8:30 AM with messages and music of peace, at 9:00 AM a minute of silence to pay tribute to all who sacrificed for peace, and at 9:01, Bishop Toshiyuki Umitani of Honpa Hongwanji Hawaii Mission will ask everyone to ring their bells for 5 minutes. All participants’ screens will be spotlighted and you will see children in their classes ringing bells, temple bells being rung by ministers and friends, senior centers, families in their living rooms, Ringing their Bells for Peace! What a great feeling!
All participants receive a recorded version with a link as a souvenir of the program.
Past participants have registered from Canada, the Continental United States and Hawaii, Germany, and Japan totaling almost 1800.
This is the 6th year for this worldwide event where more viewers can enjoy the program live on Facebook, too.
