Submitted by Thanh Huynh, M.D., president of the Hawaii Association of International Buddhists:

Many Buddhist congregations face diminishing membership, particularly of young people.

To better understand this issue, the Hawaii Association of International Buddhists is organizing a roundtable discussion of young Buddhists in Hawaii, from diverse backgrounds and traditions.

The idea is to hear what young people have to say about Buddhism, what they find beneficial, and how Buddhism has relevance in their lives and communities. Speakers range from high school students to those in mid-career.

The event will be held from 6:30-8:30 PM on Friday, May 25th, 2018, at Pacific Buddhist Academy, 1754 Lusitana Street.

We invite Buddhists and people interested in a non-harming/mindful way of life, both younger and older, to participate in this important event, which will influence the future of Buddhism in Hawaii.
