13th Annual Celebration of Mahatma Gandhi Day & International Day of Nonviolence
All are welcome to join this free event on Tuesday, October 2, from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the Mahatma Gandhi statue in Kapiolani Park, beachside of the zoo.
The event includes interfaith dialogues for peace and candle light ceremony, music by the Royal Hawaiian Band and multicultural dances. Honpa Hongwanji Mission of Hawaii Bishop Eric Matsumoto is one of the leaders participating.
Attendees are encouraged to wear white as a symbol of peace. Free parking is available at the Waikiki Shell and metered parking is available at the zoo parking lot.
