Throughout the month of February 2018, the seven denominations that make up the Hawaii Buddhist Council will each offer an early evening open house for the community.
The Open Night for Honpa Hongwanji Mission of Hawaii will be held at the Hawaii Betsuin temple on February 15, 2018 beginning at 6 p.m. While the address is 1727 Pali Highway in Honolulu, please note that access to our temple campus is a from Lusitana Street a little makai of School Street. Please join us!
Come see inside the temple to hear the choir and experience an abbreviated service, learn a bit about our history and the teachings, go on a tour of the temple and Pacific Buddhist Academy, then wrap up with Q&A and refreshments! Speakers include Bishop Eric Matsumoto and our temple president, Dexter Mar.
If you have been curious about Jodo Shinshu Buddhism, the Honpa Hongwanji community in Hawaii, or simply want to see inside the prominent, white-domed temple you usually see from the outside driving by, here is an opportunity made for you.
Those who may already be Hongwanji members are welcome too. Please invite a friend who would like to learn about the temple to attend with you.
